I am pretty sure this is a Pacific Food Company bottle. Like the Primrose of the same shape, it contained salad oil.

I don't think they are hollow. They are occasionally drilled out, and the fakes are hollow and then "stuffed" with an epoxy stuff, but we have a real sperm whale tooth that my brother-in-law got scrimshawed and gave to me as a Christmas present - and its not hollow. (he was a merchant marine and traveled alot before he passed away). Only the very end is hollow.

I should probably be a little more specific - where the root of the tooth is, they can remove the root, and there is a hollow spot - usually about a third or less of the tooth.

So, I quess the question is - how far does the hollow go?
