Flash photography of glass items washes out too many details. Could'ya do some in natural light, please. Please, also photograph the base.

Is that lead foil on the top? What is the "stopper" made from? The orange peel texture makes me think 1940's. I don't believe it is a fire grenade.

I really thought it was a light bulb at first and then I looked at other people's comments and they said it looks a fire extinguisher bomb and I looked it up and it looks exactly like that

It's a carbon-tetrachloride fire grenade extinguisher.

I don't think it's that old because it has a seam. Which means it was made from a mold

Thanks for giving me an idea of what it is. I don't think it had a seam on it and the top had been taped but on the top of the sphere it almost looked like a glass stopper.

The top cap was a hard plastic, but on the top of the sphere it has what looks like a glass stopper in it. The base has nothing on it and it is rounded so it can't sit alone. This is the bottom. Yes it does have a side seam and bottom seam
