I'm gonna post this in the "what is it" forum, but though I'd try here first since I found it on the beach. Looks like a heavy rock. Rounded on one side and slightly concave on the other. Hit it on the surface with a PI detector and have no clue what it could be? Anyone ever find anything like this?

Might be a hot rock, but thats just my best guess.

What's a hot rock?

A rock with enough metal content in to go off on your detector. I have a couple of them as well. Usually formed from volcanic eruptions rapidly fusing rock, quartz, granite, metal, and everything else together.

You got yourself a nice rock!

Cool..thanks

sounds like magnetite..... HOT ROCK. Iron Oxide....... sometimes with maganese, nickel, titantium.

This happens to me a lot with red bricks in the water... Detector sounds off...

I have found several of those type items ; could be a "hot rock" ...they get annoying after a while

Definitely a good pond skipper....:tongue3:

Does a magnet stick to it? Could be a meteorite? Resembles a stony iron meteorite.

That's actually what I thought it might be! I'll check later and let u know

So it's def magnetic, but slightly. Doesn't have a strong pull!??
