What is little object that fell out of box

Any guess or ideas what this little object that fell out of this box I came across........ And guess on age of box reminds me of Viking stuff

That is part of the lock that goes to the box. There is a small metal rod that fits through it.

Oh I see it is just a antique lock in general doesn't belong to this particular box

tis hard to say for sure...
Looks like an 1950's -60's... and could be 70's or later.
But ?

Looks like an older "George Zee and Sons" purveyers of "kiln dried" furniture and wooden chest and boxes... and everything else.
Their stuff is worth some money...
They liked Teak and Camphorwood a lot.
This MAY be what you have.

But really... I am shooting from the hip on this.
