What is she doing up there..

Mowing yesterday I saw this eagle fly low landing in a maple tree,it appeared she was eating the branch tips till I zoomed in,I could see she was trying to wipe blood off her beak from a kill.






No idea what happened to this guy,just laying out in the open,no smell..till you get close that is.
