I found this thing today and don't know if it's just piece of glass or something else
Welcome to the site, Dimeyo. I am sure some of the experts on here will be along to help you. You might want to give some details on where you found it. Not an exact location just a general area.

Glass that's been through a fire IMHO. My fathers shop is on the site of a barn that burned down (it was full of flammable varnishes and paints and the fire got hot enough to melt some steel) there was a stack of window panes that got fused together and we used to find chunks as kids. It's a man made gemstone and still really cool looking if not particularly valuable.
 

If you have an aquarium set the glass on the bottom then give it some light from underneath using optic fiber.
