What is the best way to test if something is gold?

Long story short, I have a nice bar of a very heavy metal and its colored just right.

Besides taking it to a jewelry store, can some recommend a test at home procedure? Thanks for any help

forget it, its the nicest bar of bronze i have ever seen. didn't even know bronze comes in a gold color

OH WELL Bronze is worth something or all these loosers & the ones who buy them would not be stealing from the dead ,vases etc
