What is this? A fuse?

I found this thing close to a battle site and I am not familiar with fuses but it kind of looks like one. I only think it is because it is old looking and was found close to a skirmish. The other thing looks aluminum but might not be I don't think that it is civil war but it might be any ideas.

the triangle object is an old window screen clip, i believe

yup, the triangular piece is from a window screen, The other one isn't a fuse, it's likely part of an old fire hose IMO...
