Anyone know if this coin is worth more than face value? I found about 7 of these several years ago when I opened a new roll of pennies from the bank. I've never seen any listed for sale anywhere before and the coin dealer I took it to said he would offer me 10 cents for all 7. I of course held onto them assuming they might be worth something someday. Most of the letters and the date seem to have a bit of a double-strike. These pictures are all from the same penny.

they are not worth a lot now,but hold onto them for your children. the pennies have what is called machine doubling, the die hiccuped when it struck the surface of the coin .machine doubling is not new, I have a couple quarters with portions that are doubled. the real doubled coins came from a earlier era and have some worth .one is the 1955 doubled die penny.there is a book called cherrypickers which deals with all kind of flaws in pennies-don't know about other coinage.hope this helps.Bob
