Maybe from an old Peerless automobile? Here's a radiator emblem - the logo appears very similar:

I'm not sure about that but I have a pair of handcuffs with a brand of peerless on them, I am thinking they make locks and such.

A quick google search reveals they make hundreds of various items, so essentially my post is no help at all. Sorry.

Yes to the motor car guess. Click on the image of the wheel center cap and while not exact it's close enough to remove doubt that it's from them: 1913 Peerless Model 48-Six at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance
And it may not have been part of the grease/dust cap, so someone's going to have to search a bunch more images... But at least it's a starting point

That's really cool. At first I was thinking Peerless Faucets, but I think it's spelled different, and these guys posted the same "Font" style with the car parts.
