What is this heaviy weathered lead object?

Thank you all for viewing this thread. Found this today in the same hole as a 1/2 a pair of pliers which could clip lead. It appears to have hammer marks on it. Location was an old house place.

Maybe counterbalance for a scale
Weigh it to see if have an exact weight or is X multiple(1/10,1/8,1/x) of 1 ounce

With the notches along the larger rim I would say it is a fixed plug for something.

Maybe a faucet part as in 1940 no one knew of lead danger. It is so weathered it makes me think it is very old. Thsnks,
