Greetings! I am brand new to this, so please bear with me. The smaller coin is a copper U. S. Indian Head Cent. The larger coin appears to be a copper Associated Irish Miners halfpenny token which was minted in London or Liverpool, England during the 18th Century. The obverse reads "CRONEBANE -- HALFPENNY" while the reverse states "ASSOCIATED IRISH MINERS ARMS". If dated, the date should be split on either side of the coat of arms. It may also have an inscription on the edge. It is far away from home. That's all I could find about it as of now. Nice find!

Some history:
[FONT=&quot]According the Parys Mine Company of Anglesey in Wales began the issue of copper pennies in 1787, closely followed by halfpenny tokens issued by John Wilkinson, the iron magnate. Two years later, once these tokens were seen to have gained acceptance and consequently circulated over a wide area, the Associated Irish Mine Company from Cronebane in Wicklow began to issue similar halfpenny tokers. These have a portrait of St. Patrick on the obverse, with legend CRONEBANE HALFPENNY, and the arms of the company on the reverse. These tokens were extensively counterfeited, the most common forgeries having the reverse legend changed to read "ASSOCIATED IRISH MINERS ARMS" instead of "ASSOCIATED IRISH MINE COMPANY".

I noticed this was your very first post - so, Welcome Aboard Trajandecius! You didn't list your state (or country) in your profile. So, you might consider jumping over to Sub-Forums: Select Your Area.... and selecting location information (i.e., clubs, hunts, finds, legends, maps, etc.) directly related to your state (or country). You might also consider adding your state (or country) to your displayed profile (SETTINGS -> EDIT PROFILE) so if you ask a question, etc. - people may have more success helping you (your location may help, etc.)...
