Solder?

When I was learning to solder 45+ years ago, it was common to use pennies to practice general soldering techniques. Unusual find, but no big deal.

Time for more coffee.

Is there any way to remove it?

Heat it up and use some copper wick to absorb it...

If solder, that will get most of it. Anywhere an alloy has formed will still have the white metal look.

I used to do business with a automotive radiator shop that would solder a cent to the upper radiator tank as a logo for their business.......Lincoln Radiator.
