Found this metal detecting in a site of an 1920s army air field base. Practice training base. And base is it related to the site of the army air field base? What type of metal is this object? It does not stick to the magnet.

It looks like a wire or cable standoff that was mounted between bricks - for an antenna or maybe lightning rod grounding wire...

The 'rock' in the last pic is mortar. The semi-circle end likely had some kind of insulating material in it.

I think DC Matt is on to it....this was my guess.

I say it’s a fuel or hydraulic line disconnect tool with the handle melted away. Used on aircraft and support equipment to name a few....just a guess. Not that old.
