What is this?

My son found this is our back yard. The print is recessed and reversed. It says Rose of Washington Square. Tyrone Powers, Alice Faye, Al Jolson. The film is from 1939. But not sure what this was used for. It is about 1 x 2 inches and metal. Any clues as to what it is?
