I think it is from a New Home treadle sewing machine, part of the case a corner support.

Looks like it's from an old steamer trunk

Looks like a pop bottle opener from an old soda machine to me.

It's a possibility. But the rivets on the other side look too old

There is a 'what is it forum' on here. They do an amazing job on id'ing things, you should post it on there.

Good luck.

Pete

Back-of-the-boat........might be right...I checked out some photos of the Old Home sewing machines and it looks like it may fit in someplace....might want to check them out.....Rascus

What is the year range of the Machine your talking about?

reminds me of a window lock..

I really didn't pay much attention to years ...I was just looking to match it up with any part of the machine, though if I had to guess I'd say machines might have been like early 1920 or so. Just type in Home sewing machines....though there are quite a few different sites....like Old Home and New Home...hope that helps.

Thank you that helps I'll check it out sounds like the time of most everything that day I found so it would be correct if it matches

I dunno I looked at the pics and i don't see we're it would fit anywhere in the machines. It says Rome not home if a him has a sight they see it specifically post it:

Reminds me of a latch or lock from an old bible or some other book. I think it may be to a bible due to the ROME inscription.
