this one would have been a beauty if it had not been so damaged by our delawarian soil! its an overstruck 1788 connecticut copper bust facing right. in better condition one sold on e-bay for over $1000! im not sure what this corroded example would be worth but its probably not much. it was a fun find though. i found it at an old millsite along shellpot creek.

After reading about them and looking for years, I would have to say my favorite was my first "Coin Beach" King George II & III coins dated in middle to late 1700's, found just north of Indian River Inlet.

what were the conditions of the beach when you found them? was it after a storm? i have hunted that stretch of beach several times with no luck, ive always wondered what it would be like after some good beach erosion.

I found most of my coin beach coins years ago, but usually only find them now after a good blow near full or new moon. I went just the other day and walked North from the Indian River Inlet to the old coast guard station and found only some clad quarters, but the weather and view were excellent !

I used to live in edgemoor and i remember an old amusement park along the creek that runs under philly pike just before the old sears store. I played there as a kid 40+ years ago. Now i live near bethany beach but i often think about that area. good luck,

Have no major finds in Delaware. Biggest find to date in DE is an expensive Benchmade folding knife and some clad. All my silver coins and big finds are from Long Island. Hoping to change that this weekend on the DE southern beaches.

My favorite Delaware find is this 1721 KG-1. Found in Dover.
