This is a silver plated brass buckle I found behind a church in west central Mississippi that dates to 1854. The ghost town it's in dates to around 1820. So, I'm hoping this buckle goes back a few years! Can someone help me identify it? I've heard "sash buckle" and "shoe buckle". It has a very unique design. Does anyone have any idea? Thanks.
