I'm gonna say a 1781 1/2 real.. Nice score!!! CONGRATZ....
 

That sir, is a Spanish reale!! A pretty nice condition one too. Congratulations on finding colonial era silver!! Reales were the one of the most used silver coins in the colonies and came in 1/2, 1, 2, 4, and 8 reale coins. The 8 reale was the old "piece of eight" and also called "pillar dollars" in colonial times.

How much does it weigh?
The weight should tell you the denomination. I'm going to guess around 3 grams because it looks about the size of a one reale.

come on....the 8 was an 8...anything less was a "piece"
