What kind of Depth can I expect from my 6" HF DD coil for Xterra?

I have the 6" HF DD coil for my xTerra 50 and I have not used it yet. I have read on hear that the higher frequency might give a little different VDI number but, what kind of depth can this 6" coil get in normal conditions? Do some of you guys use this coil on a regular basis and what is your thoughts of it for coinshooting?

In my ground, this coil has been the best small coil I've ever used, getting up to 8" on slightly larger targets (quarter or bigger). Where it really shines is in heavy trash areas, like around around old homesites.

Man, I was not expecting depth like that. I have just the place to take it too!!, Thanks

Ditto. Set up right you may be able to run this coil at full sens. If so you can see 8 inches. Don't expect the ID to be accurate at this depth.

I have that coil that I use on my x-70.Use it more than any other coil and love it ! I found a very corroded wheatback the other day that was down over 10 inches and also found a small earring at around 6 inches.I use allmetal and max sensitivity.

Well fellows I got to say the little 6" DD HF coil is one awesome little sucker!! At a place I thought had been hunted out by me I found my first Barber dime 1897. Next time I took it out to another place I thought had been searched out again by me I got my 2nd Barber dime 1903 and an 1896 V nickle in the same hole!! Third time out I got a 1964 Rosey. Last Saturday I took it again to where I thought had been searched out and found a 1903 IH penny!!! All I can say is I am totally astonished at how nice this little fellow can perform. You know fellow detectorist, I might just make this one my primary coin searching coil around old home sites. I do run it in all metal but have not tried turning sensitivity up all the way yet though. I might try that next time I go out. Thanks fellas!!!

This sounds great, I can't wait to get mine (in the mail as we speak with the X-70). Hey Bigtime let us know how you do with it.

Well I have not had it out much lately due to running out of places to search. I will say it does really perform well. It really can pick up very small targets too like blast caps from black powder guns, man those things are so small and they ring out like a penny, Very hard to find in the dirt too with things like that!!! I so far have found targets down to around 6 inches. Which is pretty much average for other targets I have found. I have not been on here much lately due to not having much to post. Let us know what you think too Diggincoinz, would like to see what you have to say.
