I'm guessing it is a nice quartzite shaped by someone long ago. Native crystal ball? Sweet find.
 

Looks like a marble size is about the same
 

Yeah, I'll say marble also. Why or how would a diamond form a sphere? I looked at images, and I think those people selling them show a model of graphite, with the balls representing carbon atoms, and they want you to believe the balls can be found in nature. Funny.
