I don't even have a clue as to how to reference this item. I dug it up today at a farmhouse from the 1920's. It is approximately 6 inches long and about 2.5 inches wide at the top. It looks a little Art Deco in design. It is hollow and looks like it once held something in the top (a mirror?) My initial thought was that it reminded me of a safety razor, but it is too long, the top is the wrong direction and why would it be hollow. So any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm thinking it was handle of a Deco era mirror. It may have been filled with hard pitch. When I scrap old hollow filled sterling that old pitch breaks up like hitting hard candy with a hammer. I think that pitch gets real dry and brittle with age. Could also have been a handle of a small wisk Broom or crumb brush ??
