What to use?!

Hi, I am new to metal detecting and i was wondering what types of shovels or scoops i should use for different types of soil. Any little bit of info will help. Thanks.

Use a heavy duty gardener shovel (Oxo makes a good one but it IS metal) for around $10. In harder soil you can use (believe it or not) WD40 spray and this makes it easier. I don't use much becuase I don't want to pollute or anything.
