I found this early faucet at a c1860 farm site last week and don't know anything about it. :icon_scratch: It's made of brass, it has a 1/2" external thread on one end and a very narrow spout. The handle on top rotates both clockwise and counter clockwise, but doesn't lock in a fully open or closed position. The handle is crudely cast and is held in place with a slotted screw.

Any information about what it might have been used for and a date range would be appreciated.

Thanks very much,
Dave

I believe it's a threaded drum (barrel) tap.

very cool. Love the handle style on it.

Push water valve for a temporary use spigot - like on a water cistern or large coffee urn. Push to dispense and you can't walk off and leave it running.
