Nice coin, DonR29. Sachsen is the old German State of Saxony which, like most German States, continued to mint their own coinage after the German Empire congealed in 1871.
Sachsen minted both 2 and 5 mark coins with the same pattern. Here are some statistics:
2 (zwei) marks: 28 mm diameter, 0.321 troy ounces silver
5 (funf) marks: 38 mm diameter, 0.804 troy ounces silver
The zwei mark coin in the picture is in great shape. It is a well preserved coind currently for sale at Westfälische Auktions Gesellschaft for 325 euros ($460 US dollars), a fair price for such a beautiful piece in such good numismatic condition. If yours looks like this one, figure an equivalent retail price. More wear means less value. Scracthes, stains, cleaning, and other damage mean *much* less value

2 mark dated 1879E catalog at $200 in average circulated condition, and at over $2500 in fully uncirculated.
2 mark dated 1880E and 1883E catalog at $2500 in fully uncirculated condition.
2 ZWEI MARK AFTER 1890:
worn: $35 US dollars approximate catalog value
average circulated: $65
well preserved: $120
fully uncirculated: $400
2 mark dated 1892 without the E do not have the eagle, but a German text. These catalog at over $1000.
5 FUNF MARK 1875 TO 1902:

5 mark coins dated 1891 to 1895 with an E mint mark are quite rare if they are in fully uncirculated condition. Figure a catalog value of $2000 for such coins. In circulated condition, these coins are worth about the same as the other dates of 5 mark coins.
Finally, there are 1902E coins, both 2 and 5 marks, which are fairly common. They have small inscriptions below the king's portrait and commemorate his death that year.
