I found a military button in a creek, first
I thought it was a coin until I turned it over and s
Saw the loop with a heavy wire attached. It was covered in green algae, got it home and cleaned it. The maker mark reads horstmann bro. New York , Philadelphia.

I've googled the maker mark and I know the co. Has been around from civil-WWII . Anyone have an idea?

Looks like an Army general service button from between 1902 and 1910.
 
Thanks for your input, weird how it ended up in the creek. I know it's not worth anything, just interesting. This creek is pretty remote.
