We stopped by an estate sale yesterday. There wasn't much for sale and we only picked up two things.

What would you call these? I can't find anything like them. The seller called them an "alcohol smoker" but I don't believe that for a second.

These are small. They only hold maybe two ounces of liquid. They look like a very small brandy snifter... but with a built in straw?! Obviously of French origin. The base appears to be pewter. Paid a dollar each.

I also picked up this smallish milefiore paperweight for a dollar. I would not have bought it except for the label indicating it is an authentic Murano piece. Any of you glass experts out there have a sense of how much the label might affect the value? There are lots of similar paperweights on eBay and prices are all over the place.

you did well

I believe the glasses are called Port Sippers.

(for specifically drinking Port Wine)

Indeed they are. Thanks for the tip. Port Sippers aren't super popular but I might get $20 out of them eventually.

@L&F - Thanks for the links. I will check that out.

Nice buys. Thanks for sharing...

Yes, the glasses are Port Wine Sippers. As you mention, they are not very popular. Sets of four can be had in the $15 to $25 range.

The only things that might work to my advantage about these sippers is that they are clearly hand-made in France and have the original labels. Hard to tell how much difference that might make. I'm also not sure how much benefit the pewter bases are. Most of the sippers I see on eBay are all glass.

I checked out the Label Library at the link provided by Lost & Found. Over 200 Murano labels are listed there but mine is not among them. Sigh...

It's a good thing they're not on there because I believe all Murano glass is made in Italy. Have you done any image searches on Google?
