Re: What's the best cheapie?

try an find a good quilty used machine. then you have a good machine at a cheap price. I would deal with a good dealer thou an maybe stay away from e-bay, or maybe deal with someone on here that others can recommend .Maybe give a dollar amout to spend an someone can give you some other options.

Re: What's the best cheapie?

bounty hunter 3300 maybe. perhaps a garrett ace 150.

Re: What's the best cheapie?

You also may want to look at the Tesoro Compadre. Great little machine and super easy to use. Hope it helps.

Re: What's the best cheapie?

cheap is a relative term. Just how cheap are you talking ? You aren't going to find much for under $50 except junk or old antiques that are past thier prime. Around $100 you MAY still be able to latch onto a BH 3300 on clearance someplace, and around $200 the Ace 250 is the best buy out there. Getting up into the $300 range, you have some choices to make and a lot more options.

Re: What's the best cheapie?

If you are looking around 100 bucks I would have to say go for the discovery 3000. You will want to check at the Radio Shack website and make sure they are still on clearance. Finding one will be a little tougher. You can call around to all the stores in your area and see if one of them has one. If sowhen you go there and they say it isnt on sale refer them to their website. If you are looking in the $200 area then I would say the Ace 250 is the winner hands down. If you are looking below 100 bucks you can find something on Ebay used Im sure. be a good time of year to pick one up cheap on there too. I have a bounty hunter quick draw 2 that I got for B-day a couple years ago,I would say you could find one on Ebay for 60-75 bucks, they are a pretty good machine for finding coins around the schoolyards even the dry stuff at the beach. be persistant and you will find enough change to pay for the machine and start saving for a better one in no time GL...Shoot

Re: What's the best cheapie?

Thanks for all the input everyone. I'm going to save a little more and get the Ace 250. I see a lot of people here use them too, so I'm gonna do the same. Thanks!

Re: What's the best cheapie?

After doing a lot of price comparisons, I bought my Garrett Ace 250 tonight. Paid $189.00, with headphones and a 2 year warranty. Can't wait to get out and start sweeping! ;D
Thanks for the advice everyone!

Re: What's the best cheapie?

I was going to suggest you search around for a used Minelab Musketeer Advantage but it seems you got a good detector for a good price.

Enjoy!

I have an ACE 250 and used it for the first time today..

just a sledding hill but found a few coins. Have it for just clad hunting and not expensive and had heard nothing but good. I think you made a good choice and good luck!!
