What's the name of this wagon part?

Found at a Civil War era farm in Missouri. Built in '57. Has been electrolysized. What is this piece called? Thanks!

It reminds me of the iron casing around a wooden hitch

It is called a clevis, but it isn't off of a wagon, but rather a piece of farm equipment: most likely a plow.
