I had 2 short hunts, yesterday and one day last week and did pretty well. A number of artifacts and coins. Very little clad. Nice pile of wheat pennies and 2 silver dimes. Junior sheriffs badge, 45 cal musket ball, Cub scout neckerchief slide, A lead toy man, and a whatisit with a dime for size comparison. The round thing with the short shank. It appears to be copper or brass, The rifle IMG_0001.webpIMG_0002.webpIMG_0003.webpIMG_0004.webpIMG_0006.webpIMG_0007.webpIMG_0008.webpcasing is a Winchester 32 special. Happy hunting.

Hello Johncoho. That is an excellent set of finds you got there. Real nice variety with silver and some cool relics...nice going!

I am by no means an expert on them but I'm thinking that the what's it is a small rein guide? The toy may be a gunslinger of some kind...found a similar one for Billy the Kid a while back.

Thanks for the post and Good Luck out there. C9

Some real cool finds. Congrats!

I wish my wheats would come out that clean. You must have some mild ground. :icon_thumright:

I thought a reins guide, but it seems awful small.

They don,t come out quite that nice. I use a small Harbor Freight brass brush on the ones that are not key coins.

Coins get eaten up in the Va piedmont.

We winter in Arizona and all the coins get eaten up badly out there. Around here in Pa they survive pretty well. Silver included.

You had a very fun hunt with interesting recoveries! :occasion14:

1931 cent is a very good date. Can you tell what the date and mint mark are on the upper left cent?

Very nice hunt. Big congrats

It is a 1916s but in very poor shape.
