worth a penny

The numismatic value (what a coin collector may pay) for a '58 wheat penny is about .15 to .60, depending on condition. so it's probably worth at least 15 cents.

Pork King, you must know some very generous coin dealers. I have a couple pounds I'd like to sell at that price.

It's not worth much except for the novelty value since they are rarely found in circulation anymore. Still a lucky find though!

jimzz97,

Any wheat penny is worth more than a penny especially to the person that finds it! In 1958 I was 14 yrs of age and had moved from Michigan to California, so to me your coin is worth more than a penny as it reminds me of a unique time in my life and brings back some memories of even before 1958. Also, your coin looks to be in pretty good shape. Please do not brush/clean it with anything but a very, very soft brush and some warm slightly soapy water, at least for starters or if you clean it at all.

At your public library you should be able to locate some books on coins that will give you a better idea of how much the coin is worth...................63bkpkr
