So i recieved a few wheaties in my change today. They are all covered in crud so i got to thinking.....now if cleaning coins lowers their value if i clean some coins now when i turn them over to grandkids someday would they be worth more? I know cleaning takes off the tarnish and everything but they should gain more over say 50 years right and after being kept out of dirt and everything they would look in better condition right?

well how dirty are they?

Like the bottom of a cars cup holder after a few drinks have been spilled

Hot, soapy water should work fine, and doesn't lower their value at all. It's pretty much just chemical cleaners and the like that lower the value.
