I'm a beginner to coin collecting and I have a bunch of wheat pennies. The question I have is I have been seeing alot of items on eBay that are expensive that say "Key Date." What does this mean?

Thanks in advance for the answers.

a key date is a rare variety of coin, usually rare because of a low mintage. less coins = more valueable.

Does anyone know where I can find a list of those dates?
