Went to a very popular metal detecting area in my town just for kicks . Before the snow started falling I found a flying eagle and 2 indianheads up there BECAUSE I dug every signal ! Today I was going up a trail and got an 1819 clipped LC , then walked about 15 yards further and pulled a 1738 1 reale !!! Can't believe People have missed these targets it has all rung up as trash or broken signals ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1553030052.072788.webpImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1553030052.072788.webp

Well done... but um...

Any way I can see a few close ups of that Spanish ?

DONT clean other than a rinse in water... good lighting and macro would be a plus... but best you can will work.

wanna see something... lets just say... I have a feeling. :)

Congrats on a great day and agree 1000%, dig those signals that others have left!

Not the least bit surprised those were missed. Lets be honest my friend....most people are really lazy and the thought of digging more junk becomes too frustrating and they only dig the solid tones or sadly the high tones. I’ve had some really terribly choppy signals turn into amazing signals after the removal of a couple inches of soil off the top. The colonial silver Luckenbooth brooch I found was a horrendous signal. Leaving that find in the dirt would have been awful. It’s one of my all time favorites and means a lot to me as my ancestors on my moms side were Scottish.
Happy to see you found those great coins. That Spanish is super sharp and one of my favorite designs. Great job bud

I'm curious as to what machine you were using.

Your particular reale is a half-pistareen, I've dug one myself. Awesome coin. So much cooler than the 2-pillar variety, in my opinion.

Check the back, you can tell where it was minted. For example, mine was struck in Madrid (see the little 'M' with the crown over it?) :

Great hunt!
