I was just givin one by an employee who got it from one of my customers. Its in great shape and came with instructions and all accessores. Is it worth investing in a new battery pack and learning how to use all of the adjustments or should I upgrade to a more modern machine. Im currently using a lower end bounty hunter

I was ghosttowning down in Az with a buddy who was swinging a 4900d & his machine kept up with the newer ones & surpassed them in depth. After a certain year there's not much to differentiate between the older detectors & the newer ones. Maybe a slight increase in depth, but that's debatable in many cases. Some of the new ones are also somewhat lighter. If I were you I'd get the White's up & running and use it. It's a fine unit to learn on and might be the only one you'll ever want. ..Willy.

I'm not getting the depth i thought I wood with the 5000/D, I dont know if I'm setting it up wrong. Anyone have any experience with these detectors?
