I've read a lot of differing posts about the TRX, some say it's waterproof some say it's water resistant. Whites website states that the TRX is Waterproof to 10 feet IP 68 Certified. If Whites is saying it's IP 68 Certified to 10 ft, why are people saying it's only water resistant? For the ones out there that own the TRX can you chime in on if you've used it under water and how it performed?

I have not submerged mine in almost 3 years but it has been soaked by rain & sweat more times than I can count.

I do have tape over the speaker hole tho.

I would not submerge it tho .

I do not recall the "10" Feet in my instruction manual.

Good deal if it is Water Proof.

used mine more than a dozen times in water never a problem

I didn't see it in the instructional manual either, here is a screen grab off their website. I will have to call them and ask them directly.

Spoke with Tech at Whites and he stated the TRX is IP 68 Certified Waterproof to 10 ft. I guess I could have just called instead of making a post lol!!

After reading this I tried my TRX in the river. It didn't go more then 2 feet deep. Guess what, it's not waterproof. I have it drying out in a warm area and I hope it still works later. Before I took the batteries out the light would not shut off and when I shut the TRX off it would turn it's self back on and start beeping like it was picking up a metal signal. The battery compartment had some water in it and I saw some air bubbles coming out from the speaker area.

Be careful if you take yours in water it could be an expensive mistake.

Update. My TRX is dried out and now on level 1 and 2 it works like normal. On level 3 as soon as I turn it on it will false very fast even if it is held up in the air. If I click the button a couple times it will work like normal for a minute then start beeping like crazy again. On Level 4 I can't make it stop beeping no matter what. So it's messed up but still useable for the most part.

I have had mine under water a couple of times but i was not under very long.
