Who is This Artist? Signed Painting

I got this big oil painting today. It probably dates from around the 1960's or 1970's (maybe later) based on the canvas company (Anco Bilt) and the price tag on the back of the frame. The signature on the painting says G.W. Paul, and I am wondering who he is (probably an NH artist). I couldn't find anything about him so far, but will continue looking. It seems to have been a fairly expensive painting back when it was first sold for $53.50. Thanks!

Also, any idea on the value of a painting like this now?

They replied to my email. Instead of telling me who the artist was, all they told me was, "Would you consider selling this piece". Their offer was $100.
