At a yard sale yesterday this guy pulled out pens. He said he wanted $50 for them there's 13 of them. And I thought there's no way I'm spending $50 on pens. He said there's a couple Waterman pens in there. Which meant absolutely nothing to me. So I walked away and didn't quick search and I went back and bought them for $50. None of them have the original boxes though.

So I have 2 Hallmark pen and pencil set.
5 cross
3 Waterman One being a fountain pen
And 4 that are Montablac.

Unless they're knockoffs, I think you did great. I know just a little about what I should buy when it comes to pens. The old ones like pre 1950s is what I've had some success in selling for more than I paid on em.

I would go to the Mont Blanc store and have them checked out. If they are real they should be worth about $100 each.

I just checked online nothing popped up as far as any retailers near me. I will have to continue my search. Thank you very much 🤗

if they're all authentic, you made an unbelievable buy. check all of the fountain pens nibs. the high-end pens are usually 14k and they will be stamped. on the mont blancs, check the upper ring with a loupe and they should be serial numbered, also check the ink refill it should be genuine mont blanc. also google how to tell a genuine mont blanc. hope this helps, let us know if they're real

I just got out of bed to go check. Two of them have serial numbers on them. The other two do not but they are matching sets. So one of each color has a serial number. And they have the name on the refill as well. The nib on the waterman pen is not gold. And all of the pens are dried up on ink.

You should be able to email Montblanc with the serial numbers and I think they may be able to tell you, not sure though.... Agree +$100 or so each Blanc pen. Warning they are a huge faked item. Hope they aren't! I found a 14k nib Parker a few weeks ago for $20 in perfect condition. I need a new ink cartridge and I'd be able to use it for school!

google search the serial number and Mont Blanc. Fakes usually use the same number.

Man... That is a great find. A Montblanc is on my list of items I really want to find.

I had no idea. Never even heard of them. What I'm going to do from now on when I go to estate sales I think is hit the jewelry and then the in home office. Haha. I never would've thought!

you can break the pens down even further to check for authenticity. Unscrew the little tip with the white star and you can break down the cap into 3 pieces. There are some marks on the inside of the pocket clip that will help with authentication.

Cross is not anything too good. Waterman varies. Mont Blanc is good... minimum $100 each... roller balls and ball points. Fountain pens start much higher, as the nib is over $100. I use MB fountain pens at the office, and have for 20+ years. The last one I got was $700!

Nice score!

i bought 2 caps before thanksgiving and wasnt sure if they were real or not. After some looking online, i was 90% sure and the buyers never complained so i was happy. You might want to polish them too. I'd recommend a light automotive wax. Turtle wax works but so does any Meguairs detailers wax. It will smooth them out and clean up any superfine scratches.

Even MB ballpoints will go higher (considerably!) than $100, but beware, for as someone else already said, this is one of the most-faked pens in the world.

Is the MB pen heavy for its size? And if you shine a flashlight into its barrel, does the black glow red?

One of your Cross pens looks like a Coventry. No real value, but a nice writer (I have one). Are any of them also fountain pens?

What sort of Waterman fountain pen did you get? (I'd need a shot of the nib, if you could manage).

I'll be able to get you one when I get home a picture of it. As far as the Mount Blanc pens go I emailed someone else on eBay who had a set and he said both The pen and pencil have a serial number on them which only one of mine percent has a serial number. Idk.

Montblanc!!!! I used to go to the store in my 20s and drool over them! I'd buy them all day and that price!!!!
