When you walk a mile up an unmapped stream.. Still trying to figure out where it forks from and even if I don't find anything.. This place is pretty enough to satisfy my adventurous soul food!

I understand what you mean. To me there is nothing like walking up a creek, a ravine or just a wash out not knowing what you may find. I have gotten in some creeks and walked toward the head waters and have came out miles away from my jeep an have to call someone to come get me an carry me to my jeep. It's the thrill of not knowing what is around the next bend. I love to walk up on wild life and watch them and in my neck of the woods you just never know what you may see. Then there is the times that you walk up on an artifact just laying on the ground like someone left it there for you, are when you see something odd shaped sticking out of a bank and when you dig it out, it's an ice age mammal bone. Also I just love the time alone or the time spent with a friend. When I was in the service I spent most of my time in the bush with one other guy and we may go days with out saying a word and I say that just to say I enjoy the quietness and animal sounds of the woods.Creek from Hell 009.webp

Momof3, your creek looks similar to what I have here in that they have solid rock bottoms and no gravel bars. I believe that is why you are finding very little artifacts in them just like I find very few in ours. Try to find creeks that have lots of gravel bars and I think you will increase your odds of finding artifacts and not just oddly shaped rocks.

There... I turned your picture right side up for ya. Was hard to see with my head tilted, lol.

I have never been to this place til yesterday! There were some gravel bars here and there I just wasn't up for digging! found a couple of scrapers (of course) just walking though!

See I can't do that! Those banks at too close together and that free standing water freaks me out! I will wait to the snakes are asleep to hunt these places!

Lol! It was right side up when I took it!
Yeah I know. For some reason, it does that. Does it to me too. I use a photo editor to turn them right side up before I post them.
