We bought our claim about 5 months ago, and only had a chance to explore our first claim twice before winter set in. I've narrowed it down to 2 places on Google Earth that I have a good "feeling" about. Could you please tell me where you'd start digging (if anywhere), as this is my first attempt at mining, so any info is good info, to me.
Thank you for your time!

Hi wishbone, Dowsing revealed in both pictures an attraction to gold placer in the areas of the green arrows, rectangles and circled areas. Thin outlined rectangle areas are alluvial gold pockets and possibly shallow vein. Thanks for posting your pictures.Jon

Teleprospector, I think you hit where I marked spots for wishbone privately, good job!

If so, then your huge line rectangle box, should be matching really close as my large yellow circle.

Thanks sooo much teleprospector! I can not believe that more people don't seek the experience and intuition of dowsers.
Red_desert is right, you are both in the same place. And I want everyone in this forum to notice that your arrow and circle by that big bump where the road goes around it is about 100ft from where Okiedowser indicated.
Now come on, even non-believers have to admit that there are times when even coincidence can't explain it.
I have a feeling inside that says, " listen to THEIR feeling inside!
I'm so excited.

I just checked where Art said to look and everyone is in agreement on the placer (wishbones jaw drops).

Hey thank you Red_desert! It's good to see all who have dowsed so far are in the same area!Jon

Hi wishbone and you're welcome! I've been under the weather a bit from the "polar vortex" (not a new ride at cedar point)thats been hanging around the midwest. Thank you for letting us all know how our dowsing has matched up.I believe you have a really good natural gold area there.I hope you can start to recover the gold soon!Something else I felt during the dowse is that the area has been very little disturbed in the past by natural ground movement, so the gold is in very concentrated pockets/veins.My green rectangles is where the gold is concentrated and shallow.Jon

Your right on the money AGAIN teleprospector! We chose that area because it has never been mined, not even the old manually staked claims (we call them heritage claims). There are lots of old claims around us, but no claims that I can find where we are.
I'm glad your feeling better, and thanks again for helping a total rookie.

Thanks Jon! Since the lines were very fine on the large rectangle box I'd mentioned (didn't see that myself at first glance) put a high visibility outline for it, so people can see something is there when they look.

Hi thanks Red_desert!, I should start using bolder lines!Jon

By the way, I probably should have mentioned that the map I'd done for wishbone was zoomed out some, compared to the one he posted above....so, the yellow circles in this area were the only hits, from the map taking in a much larger territory.

I don’t think I have ever Dowsed a map with more Placer gold on it

I've sized my cropped section from the larger zoomed out map, to even it up fairly close to Jon's (Teleprospector) and for the most part we hit around the same area.

He has told us that the claims are all around the area...I have to assume that the stream has been worked a lot...For that much placer to be there a source for the gold has to be still there. When I dowsed the map the gold was all the way from the top to almost the bottom of the map..I would suggest that he take samples on both sides along the stream and find where the gold stops..then he can start looking for the source...that's where the dollars will be ..Art

How do guys draw all those lines and arrows and stuff on your maps please. I want to show you my "master plan" for the summer. I looked up at the font bar thingy, but I don't see a shapes or arrows button? In another program, maybe?

I use Microsoft Digital Pro 9 and the Paint program....the paint program is on all Microsoft computer systems...Art

Thanks Art. My brother and my best friend (aka: partners) love all of you guys. My brother is like me, doesn't know squat about mining. My partner mined for years, up in the Yukon. He worked for a big mining company, you know, strip away an entire valley and take everything beneath it. This is his first attempt at a more eco-friendly way of mining.
Well his boss was a dowser. He told me his boss used to practice before he wanted to go out, if practice went fine, he went out, if it didn't, then he didn't. His boss taught him that it's not a everyday thing. And a not for everybody thing also.
Doug told me that in the isolated bush they found 2 dowsing rods hanging in a tree. Each had a piece of gold hanging from a string. That's why when Art mentioned what "baiting" was, I figured that's what this old timer was doing.
Now imagine that. A guy with a big gold mining operation, money falling out of his ears, can afford 100 metal detectors (and he probably owned a few), chooses to go and dowse for new ground. Crazy like a fox I say!
I'm going to go and learn to draw circles on a map now, so I can show you guys my master plan for recovering all the gold in the world by July...lol.
Take care
