Wierd copper plates

Hello, i found these and some other chunks of copper on a shore in michigan. i think they are ship-related. any ideas on what these particular pieces were for. One says "A (something) rending"

Any Ideas!!??!?!?!?!??!?!?!

Any other ideas.....i have found a lamp part and i think that these might be the bottom of nuatical oil lamps

GC, all I can think of is that some lamps have color rending properties or indexes. Where did you find it, and don't tell me it was Copper Harbour!

first of all: Huh?
then: i found these pretty close together on a rocky shore. The were deep for the area and covered with heavy rocks. The area might have been a 1940-ish dump of reidence based on finds. I just found an identifible lamp part, so they might just be that

GC, I meant where in Michigan? I grew up in Michigan and I'm curious.

A color rending index is used to give truer color for color checking or other uses where that's important.

That could very well be, but how large are the peices?

They were found in st. ignace by macinac island
