Neat. It looks to be a 'planthopper'... a true bug in the taxonomic sense (ie Hemiptera) of the suborder Auchenorrhyncha and infraorder Fulgoromorpha.

The nymph stage for many genera of these insects commonly has a brush-like or bushy tail. This one is Acanalonia servillei, which may not be the same species you have (there are thousands of them) but at least gives you an idea.

Red, thank you for the information. I saw this bug yesterday and went back to look for it again this morning. It was still in the same place. I went back this evening after a rain shower and it was still in the same exact spot! But, when I would try to get another picture it would circle the branch so it was on the back side from me. No matter where I moved it would circle away but it never moved up or down.
I can't wait to order a good macro lens. Hope my stimulus check gets here in the next month or two!

Cool photo! He is a bit camera shy (circling the branch).:occasion14:

Nice pic and good infoon it. Where did all the caccoons and walking sticks, frogs, Turtles Praying Manitss,Moths with the eye on the wings go??????????

I guess fertalizer and building got them to be extinct around here

Seems it was the nymph. I went back today and it was still in the same spot, but it had changed!
