Pretty close, Stoney!

Believe it's "NEW RIVAL"— and, as you say, probably very early 1900's.

Hi Don

What can i add after PBK puts his touches to it? I will add though that the shotgun shell casing will not date the site... if anything it just makes the site older for the building could have already been in shambles when the shot was fired and the shell ejected and dropped.

It does look to be a good place to find some really old stuff. Have you found a well yet?

Good Luck and thanks for sharing with us.

Thanks for the dates everyone. No well or privy yet the place is near a spring though so there prolly won't be a well. I found it from plat maps it is there on 1867 maps and gone on 1906 maps. And yes I agree shells wont date a site I was hoping I had a real old black powder jobbie though.
