These guys aren't usually here but in the winter months...
they sure are nice to look at. Quite noisy birds they are!
I saw one with blue on him this past October. This one, has brown on him.
Didn't realize there were two main colors...
(Yes, a Kingfisher)

That's a Kingfisher, isn't it?
 
I remember Kingfishers from when I was a kid in Southern California. I don't know if their range includes Oregon, but I don't recollect ever seeing one up here.

I pass a pond on my way to work, and there is usually one sitting on the electrical wires above it, watching for his opportunity. We have them along the river here too.
