Wish me luck tomorrow (updated Friday 9/29/06)

I recently met someone who is a teller at a bank and I told her I collected half dollars. She said that they had some halves at a branch of theirs and asked if i wanted them. I was like, sign me up!! She has $55 worth. I pick them up tomorrow. Also, I ordered $1000 two weeks ago and the teller didn't put the order in right away. She said they would be there tomorrow. So I pick them up tomorrow too. Problem is, how do I do better than i have the last two Fridays? Hopefully, I can come close. If there is anything interesting, I will post pics.

Good luck on your hunting tomorrow. I hope I have some good luck also as I get the last $110 worth of halves at the small town bank that has been treating me pretty good the last couple of days.

Ok, I picked up the two boxes and one of the rolls in a box had a walker sticking out on the end!!!! Thats a good sign. I'll keep you updated.

Today was pretty good for quality not quantity. I got a 1937 Walker, 1958 Franklin, 3- 1964 Kennedys, 3 gold kennedys stamped with 1960-1980, 18 - 40% silver kennedy half dollars, and a Medio Balboa, Republica De Panama 1980 coin. I also got a susan b. anthony dollar. I counted the other coins in the roll thinking that they put that there in place of a half, but no, all the halves were accounted for so I got a free dollar. Wahooo.

Amazing how many of them Balboa coins are out there. I have found close to a dozen in my searching.

Well, they used to be made of some silver, and the earliest one on ebay right now is 1930...here is the page:

I believe that its a 1/2 Balboa. And the last time I checked it was worth about 50 cents. So its just a push as far as taking the place of a US half. Still fun to find. If you don't like it you can always turn it in with your rejects.
