I purchased this duck decoy the other day. Im not a decoy collector but this was price very low and thought it would look good on a shelf in my antique bottle cabinet. My brother thinks that it could be a factory made decoy but wasn't sure who made it. Is there any decoy collectors that could tell me by the shape or style who made it and what the approximate value is.

I believe what you have there is a Mason Goldeneye decoy. You can Google it and see. They do have some value generally starting around $250.00 and up from there.

Lets say it's a Frank Coombs or Mason it could go for $2000 -$3000. In the condition of yours same duck would go for $200 - $300 if made by the same people. Too there's no markings but I would not let it go for less than $50. Even old Ducks unlimited in good shape pull a pretty penny.

This story reminds me of a women who use to live in my parents neighboorhood ,her husband had died and she was having a garage sale and letting several people on our street have a first look, well one lady who use to go garage sale shopping all the time wanted to buy her duck decoy's,and paid her $100 for 10 ducks.About 2 weeks later my mom and the widow are having coffee an talking when the doorbell rang and the lady that bought the decoys, comes in and hands that lady a check for $20,000 ,I guess these were the real deal, made by some old guy/or company.
