Wow that knife is screwed up! I cannot believe you got it outta the ground in one piece (so to speak)! Nicely done...

That knife was pretty deep...it looks like a piece of wood. It must have been there a long time. Way to go.
 

Solano county finds? I was in your county a couple of weeks ago - not to detect but to visit Rio Vista and ride on the ferries. Lots of history in Solano County, hope you and your son can dig up lots of it!! Anything with the name Fowler or Adcock are mine though. LOL

The shield logo on your son's knife could be from any number of older knives - Imperial, Remington, Case, or something lesser known. IOW, the shield logo is somewhat generic. The fact that it has a wooden handle might eliminate some of the brands. But whatever the brand, it's a very interesting find exactly because it is so messed up, IMO. A real conversation piece!!
 

Very nice knife! Congrats on the great finds! Could you tell me what colours the Eagle is and what it measures? I think I know where it might be from...
