Wooden Keg care

Found a 1 or 2 gal wooden keg/barrel. Still in tact. What is the best way to clean it and then preserve it. Was sitting in an old cold celler. Little to no rot. The spout is missing, but I might be able to find it on the next visit. I did find an all wooden spout but for a larger keg/barrel.
