SCHUYLKILL HAVEN — Sediment removal from the Schuylkill River Could begin today in the borough.
At Wednesday night’s borough council meeting, councilman Carl Berger said Blue Ridge Excavating brought equipment in Wednesday to begin the project that will hopefully help prevent future flooding within Schuylkill Haven.
Work will start behind the St. Charles Apartments before moving toward the parking lot of the Church of the Nazarene.
Mayor Gary Hess said he was told that although the project is weather dependent it should take about two to three weeks.
