Some kind of buckle with a snap button in the center, which says "WORLD BEATER" and "PAT. PEND." Any ideas?

If it was off my dad's belt, it would of said VHS07 beater.

Scrap brass is my best guess.

I found it in what looked like a 1950s-ish garbage dump, with a little bit of earlier stuff mixed in (broken cork top bottles, that sort of thing). Im just kind of curious since this is the first buckle like this Ive come across. I was thinking maybe a suspender buckle or possibly an overall buckle.

Its for a Horse Blanket Strap. The round rough edges are the strap lock.

You digging along the Santa Cruz? Grandmother pulled an antique
set of leaded glass salt servers and spoons - was a cool find.

No, just out taking a walk through the desert near home when I noticed this old garbage dump along the side of the road. I poked around for a minute and found that buckle thing. I wanted to look a little more, but some guy I didn't see started target practicing with a shotgun right nearby, so I decided to keep moving. I wasnt sure if the guy was aiming for me at first or not! Turned out he was just shooting up a wash and never even saw me.

And thanks for the ID. I was hoping it was something more than just a suspender or overall buckle.

Funny you mention the Santa Cruz and your grandparents. By grandparents used to do a lot of bottle digging along the Santa Cruz. One of the museums in Tucson is full of bottles they dug, 50 years ago.

A 1950's Garbage dump is at the base of Sentinel Peak ( A Mountain) .
The site of the Rio Nuevo Scandal that cost the city $7 Million plus any
native could have told the city it was a DUMP.

Your site is most likely 70's
West of I-10 and Ina 70s by the waste water plant
Prudence and broadway 60's
Houghton and Irvington 80's
Lakeside park 60-70s

The Santa Cruz has from the 1900's to 1940's
Most of the banks are now soil cemented.

Good luck

And I can assure you my grandparents dug up many pre-1900 bottles along the Santa Cruz.

The trademark referenced was filed for in 2006, and a Statement of Use form was never filed, which is why it is listed as abandoned. In addition, the trademark is for the two words combined, which they are not on this piece. For those reasons I don't believe that's who this item could be attributed to.
